personal portfoleo:

Takers (2018)

Takers was the first movie produced by Leo Cinema during the educational journey of its founder, Danny Leo.

The film explores a post-colonial perspective on immigration through the historical lens - in an attempt to explore the then widely discussed matter of immigration to the United States - showcasing the historically systematic oppression of Native people in North America in juxtaposition to the then prominent trend of taking an oppositional stance towards foreign immigration.

Glitch (2019)

Glitch is a POV (first-person) immersive action movie.

A perspective on the state of the post-human condition - the film puts the viewer into the head of the protagonist undergoing an underground neural augmentation, which once installed grants him the ability of a faster reaction time and lightning-quick focus.

However, said protagonist escapes his captors, later to be hacked and operated remotely.

Will the hero be able to escape his fate of becoming a remote cyborg?

Experimentation with HUD elements and 3-D motion tracking was the focus of this project.

Second Hand (2020)

Second Hand is a documentary exploring the rise of an interest in vintage fashion among the younger generation of Europeans.

The movie positions the trend of adopting vintage fashion in contrast to abandonment of inner-city buildings, exploring the question of whether there are linking factors between the two essential necessities and the approaches taken towards them by society.

Split Second (2021)

Split Second - is circumstantially a “pandemic inspired” sci-fi short.

Filmed in Germany in two days in February 2021 (during an 8pm curfew, without any ability to reach out to acquire any actors or crew) the movie follows a surrealistic narrative of the protagonist’s future self time-traveling to convince his past self to return to the future with him so as to help save the planet from a dangerous catastrophe: a matter on which he cannot trust anyone but himself on any longer.

Could a(_set_of) individual(s) be responsible for changing the entire timeline of humanity?

The movie is almost entirely filmed with a green screen, and uses elements of keying and compositing, giving of a “comic-book” like look.

Liver (Repeat After Me) (2022)

Liver is a movie about parenting , as well as the repercussions of casualising conformity when parenting, with a focus of highlighting the affect of action having a grander impact on human behavior than any type of advice or or verbal suggestion.

Made for the Collaborative Filmmaker Challenge the movie is derived from the quote:

Every father should remember one day his child will follow his example, not his advice

Presenting the subject matter of parenting through a surrealist perspective, in Liver - the mother and father figure are represented as teachers in an empty classroom, with the father attempting to educate the child about the functions of the liver, however - things take an unexpected turn when a guest representing societal influence makes a sudden appearance.
